A.T.E. Chandra Foundation is one of India’s leading philanthropic foundations in terms of scale and nature of work,  managing the charitable giving of Archana & Amit Chandra and the A.T.E. Group. We strategically invest in ideas that generate highest SROI (social return on investment) because we believe in the power of ‘multiplier’ and are driven to maximize our philanthropic impact by leveraging our resources. Our approach towards problem-solving any societal  issue is threefold wherein: 

  1. we deeply engage in understanding the root cause by investing in research & development  
  2. work directly or with partners in implementing the solutions to build evidence of success, failures, and learnings 
  3. build knowledge templates to disseminate widely for the larger sector to adopt good practices  

Our efforts are equally distributed between implementation and advocacy to play a catalytic role in solving for the issues at scale, that impacts the sector at large. Our founders spend substantial amount of their time working very closely with the  small, tight-knit team to collectively impact the below-mentioned focus areas: 

  1. Social Sector Capacity Building (SSCB) focused to drive investments in building ecosystem capabilities of the sector  and organizational effectiveness  
  2. Sustainable Rural Development [SRD] focused at addressing key rural issues and supports initiatives such as desilting  of water bodies and natural farming 
  3. Goodwill supporting various projects but largely focused on urban governance. We have also supported large legacy projects such as SRCC Children’s Hospital, Ashoka University and Give India under this portfolio. 

About the role  

In this role, you will work closely with all the 3 vertical heads, COO and Founders to build evidence of our impact, develop a strong narrative to influence critical stakeholders and disseminate it in relevant forums to strengthen existing relationships and build new partnerships. The key objective is to mobilise more partnerships and drive attention towards the critical cause areas supported by the Foundation.  

A Successful Manager will:  

Create and execute a clear communication & advocacy strategy to influence critical stakeholders within each vertical to join the movement and contribute to its growth.  

Build and execute a social media strategy to engage with relevant stakeholders and disseminate the learnings and impact of our projects to the larger sector. This includes managing PR and social media pages of the  Foundation. 

Identify and collaborate with external communication agencies & media organisations to develop &  disseminate best practices, case studies, articles, video stories and annual publications to showcase the impact  of all our programs using online and offline platforms  

Identify networks and collaborative relevant to our projects and build relationships with them, build a network  of influencers and institutions invested in our programs and engage them meaningfully  

Identify and support the representation of the Foundation at various speaking events nationally and  internationally to showcase our impact and voice the cause areas supported by the Foundation backed by  research and evidence 

Design DIY training modules, toolkits, and templates to help internal team and partner organisations to learn,  create and implement a robust communications & advocacy framework for their programs  

Engage with partner NGOs from all the 3 verticals to support them with their communication & advocacy  efforts enabling them to forge new partnerships and reach out to more beneficiaries 

Plan trainings & learning sessions to disseminate learnings & insights captured from projects to engage  stakeholders in a meaningful dialogue 

Build a coherent brand identity for internal and external communications that includes templates for all types of  publications  

Develop a website for the Foundation to showcase various projects we support and our impact till date to drive  more traffic and engagement with critical stakeholders 

 What you bring to the table  

A graduate degree from any field, additional course/s specialising in communications will be preferred 

8+ years of work experience in the social sector of which 4-5 years in communications & networking for an  organisation/project, especially in managerial role 

Knowledge of various tools and platforms to design and disseminate stories of impact 

Strong project management & networking skills to engage with a range of stakeholders in dynamic environment 

Ability to leverage data to strengthen the impact narrative of all our projects  

Able to plan and execute at strategic level to improve our Foundation’s presence in the social sector ecosystem 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with a high level of diplomacy, discretion and problem-solving ability

Duration: Full time 

Location: Based in Mumbai. We are not looking for employees working from remote location for this role.
