Leher is a child rights organization, whose vision is for caring families, alert communities and responsive governments to come together for the rights and protection of all children. Leher’s thrust is on child protection prevention at the primary level- communities, government, for all children.

Leher is part of a Collective of organizations working in Maharashtra for a period of three years strengthening prevention, and community-based supports and care options for children. We will be setting up pilot demonstration sites of community led child protection with child protection committees and children’s groups in 2 districts, as well as collaborating with Childline.

We are looking for a Senior Researcher to join our team.

The job profile as under:

  • Responsible for overall project tracking and collation of MIS
    • Collation of information for results framework from field reports/district teams
    • Six-monthly project reports
    • Collation of information for sharing with the Collective
    • Documentation of case stories, narratives, insights from field teams
  • Training module and tool development
    • Research for training module development and any other research and training tools required for the pilot project.
  • Mobile software application for CPCs
    • Assist the project lead by coordinating activities, collation of inputs for software update and adaptation for Maharashtra.
    • Train teams on use of the application
    • Collate and analyse data on a monthly basis.
    • Trouble shoot and support field teams through roll out of application
  • Work under direction of project lead, and Leher co-founder to undertake documentation of-
    • project learnings in papers, technical briefs, strategy notes for various stakeholders including district and state governments, peer organizations interested in community led child protection.
    • findings of pilot initiative and preparation of final report
  • Documentation and tracking of the special interventions [governance mapping, and child care interventions] in Mumbai.
    • Develop blue prints, undertake secondary research, hypothesis, need assessment for special intervention pilots in Mumbai
    • Design reporting formats, and collation of monthly reports for the 2 special interventions in Mumbai
    • Write/edit/contribute to the governance mapping study as required
    • Create relevant communication pieces for different audiences such as civil society, donors, social media, publications etc.
  • Review and evaluation
    • Participate in all project/organization reviews as per schedule
    • Coordinate activities, provide information, reports, and insights for all/any overall project evaluations

A suitable fit for this post would include a person

  • With 5-8 years of work experience
  • A Master’s Degree in Social Work/Social Development with a published research project as part of the course
  • Qualitative research, and report writing, and publication as key components of prior work experience
  • Comfort with working and analysis using Excel, and in compiling Power point presentations
  • Ability to coordinate, organize, and track multiple processes in parallel
  • Commitment for and Interest in child rights and child protection work
  • Passionate about participatory processes and building local leadership
  • Timeliness and oriented to manage deadlines
  • Willingness to travel
  • Willingness to work from home on days that do not require field visits
  • Commitment and interest to work on the pilot project for 3 years
  • Fluency in English, working knowledge of Marathi would be desirable
  • Delhi based position
