We bring you an interesting opportunity to work with WCT’s Conservation Research team in the capacity of a Research Associate. WCT is looking for a highly motivated researcher with an interest in connectivity conservation to work in the Central Indian Landscape. Road Ecology has been an integral component of WCT’s research and advocacy work over the years. The Conservation Research team studies the ecological impacts of ongoing as well as proposed linear infrastructure projects such as construction and widening of roads that pass through forest corridors, threaten to compromise habitat connectivity, and endanger the lives of wild animals. Based on its extensive studies, the team undertakes policy-level interventions for the creation of mitigation measures needed to minimise damage to wildlife from such projects.
• The work will involve field surveys to collect data on the response of wildlife to linear infrastructure in Central India, data analysis, reporting, and communication.
•Early career researchers (<2 professional experience) with an MSc. degree in relevant subjects, are especially encouraged to apply.
•Position is fixed for six months and may be extended subject to review
•Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and qualifications
•The position is open to Indian nationals only.
•Application deadline: November 30, 2022.
