Project Manager
Location: Central India

Job Description:

  • The Project Manager source, co-create and co-manage impactful agricultural and/or forestry projects with the civil-society field partners. He is responsible to:
  • Lead co-design and implementation of agro-ecology / forestry projects that combine social and environmental change for the benefit of smallholder farmers.
  • Coordinate project participants and activities in the long run, by being part of projects governance, anticipating opportunities and risks, monitoring and achieving results over the whole project lifetime.
  • Understand and manage points of view and jargons from different actors (business, technical, academic, investors, public., etc..) to propose smart, practical action plans that create an alignment of all stakeholders.
  • Bring expertise on hands-on agroecology / forestry practices (soil health, soil fertility, regenerative agriculture, agroforestry…) to our colleagues and partners and help adapt these to the local context of the projects.
  • Scout for new project opportunities, in line with our values, and be able to deliver real, measurable transformation in the agricultural or natural landscapes that poor communities rely upon for their livelihoods.
  • Work closely with the Impact team to monitor and evaluate project’s impact.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • You are a passionate, experienced and result-driven professional with a strong background and first-hand field experience and excellent documentation skill in agroecology and sustainable agricultural and/or forestry practices.

You Possess

  • 3 to 5 years proven track-record of relevant experience in propagating agroecology and/or sustainable forestry in developing economies, close to smallholder farmers, rural communities, demonstrating tangible achievements.
  • Graduated in agronomy and/or forestry or have the equivalent hands-on field experience.
    Experience in carbon projects is not required but is a plus.
  • English spoken and written with ease, as the internal working language, Hindi at least spoken with ease, as a lingua franca in most of the Region.

Other Specifics

  • Home-office with regular in-person interactions at the Haritika’s HQs.
  • This position requires frequent travel for field visits (c. 50% of the time).
