Nayi Disha is life-long partner for families affected by autism, down syndrome, and other developmental disabilities. In a short span of 5 years, we have looked upon as a credible hub of knowledge, information, and support networks. We provide a directory of available services in various cities, with the option for user reviews and ratings. We also host a free helpline for parents to talk and chat with experts. 

In the past 5 years, we have a reach of 2,50,000 people across the country and building a community of 16,000+ families through our services. 

Nayi Disha has won many prestigious awards, including the international Zero Project Award 2020. 

Position: This is a contractual position for 3-5 months as a ‘Content writer’. This might extend as per the need of the organisation.  

Location: With COVID situation, this will be WFH position for the next 6 months. If it is safe and we  reopen offices, we would like the candidate to be in Hyderabad and open to possible travel to other  cities/small towns across India

Job Responsibilities 

  • Ideate and develop high-quality and user-friendly content to address the information needs of our target audience i.e. parent communities, pertinent to developmental disabilities that is in accordance with the organization’s core ethics and identity.  
  • Be responsible for researching, writing, editing, proofreading, and uploading all creative content. 
  • Provide editorial and creative support towards generating high quality content, with a fine design sense.  
  • Adhere to strict internal ethical policies when creating all forms of content and ensure they are uploaded to the webpage in a clear, consistent, simple manner free of any copyright infringement.  
  • Work closely with the technical support team for technical optimization of all creative content to make it more user-friendly for our target audience. 
  • Engage and interact with peer support groups to identify key requirements for content development that provokes effective peer group engagement. 
  • Maintain a content development calendar for creation and delivery of content across various  design formats and languages (Mainly English and Hindi)
  • Submit work to editors for input and approval

Desired Profile

  • A Master’s degree in a human services-related field. 
  • 2-3 years of experience will be preferable. 
  • Have an understanding of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities domain and being sensitive to the requirements of working across the domain. 
  • Experience in writing on various topics about intellectual and developmental disabilities will be highly preferable. 
  • Excellent command over the languages(English and Hindi). 
  • Ability to proofread translated content will be an added advantage. 
  • Good written and oral communication with interpersonal skills. 
  • Comfortable with technology and willingness to embrace new tools. 
  • Prioritise effectively and deliver work within the assigned deadline.  
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
